Question 2
In Pain, I hate pills, Can Pot Help?... I'm sick and tired of fighting with my wife. I hate taking over the counter medications (pills) for my pain (multiple sclerosis). And she hates medical marijuana (or POT as she likes to remind me). I live in Ca., have my recommendation, and hate living in pain. Someone shoot me some facts, so that I might silence the women I love with reason...
Answers
1) As long as you aren't filling the house with smoke what's the problem? If it's legal for you she shouldn't have an issue with you using it medicinally. Tell her you function more normally with it, and you just want to be normal again. There's got to be plenty of things you put up with that she does, remind her of some of those. - Suspension Notice
2) Weed will definitely help with pain. It isnt as harmful as any OTC meds such as Vicodin, Percocet, or anything really. It does not kill a single brain cell, make you lazy, slow, or do any harm to your brain. If your wife doesnt accept the facts make her watch "The Union: The Business Behind Getting High". Great documentary for ignorant people and just people who want to know the truth about "pot" - waoa
3) The most commonly used painkiller in the US is acetaminophen (brand name Tylenol). This is easily available over the counter. Acetaminophen is also in sleep aids (for instance, Tylenol-PM), and in strong prescription narcotic painkillers such as Vicodin and Percocet. Recent studies have found that acetaminophen is the leading cause of liver damage and probably is responsible for 1600 cases of acute liver failure that occur each year. The drug is thought to be safe at the recommended dose but because it is in so many different kinds of medication, people often end up taking double or even triple doses if they are using different painkillers or sleep aids. An FDA advisory panel urged the FDA to ban Percocet and Vicodin and other prescription drugs that contain acetaminophen. Due to the amount of money made by pharmaceutical companies by the sales of narcotic medications, and the fact they spend about $150 million per year lobbying our government officials, it will be a long time before any real changes take place.
In 1998, the Journal of the American Medical Association published a study that stated that prescription medications were the fourth leading cause of death in America. Another study reported that there were 106,000 deaths per year from non-error, adverse effects of medications. And are you ready for the really scary part of this (as if that was not enough) – 2.2 million Americans per year are injured significantly by prescribed medications ending up with serious reactions and even with permanent disability. Not from accidental or intentional overdose, just from taking the prescribed dose.
Medical marijuana is natural medication, not synthetic. There is no organ damage and if taken with a vaporizer, eaten or used sublingually (under the tongue), there is no lung damage. It helps with so many conditions that patients who were taking multiple medications have been able to reduce the doses or eliminate the medications completely by using medical cannabis. Be smart and do your own research. Decide if you want to be one of the unfortunate statistics for 2009.
Many MS patients are using medical marijuana as they have found that it relieves the spasticity, calms tremors, and helps with the depression and anxiety of being ill. There are a number of scientific studies that show that marijuana helps to reduce MS symptoms. One study looked at 167 patients who reported less pain, less muscle spasms, and less bladder incontinence with use of cannabis. These patients reported that they were able to control symptoms with the same dose of cannabis for a mean duration of 434 days without having to increase their dose. (Wade, Multiple Sclerosis 10:425-33, 2004) Researchers suggest that this study demonstrates that marijuana does not lead to increased tolerance requiring increased doses of medication, unlike the conventional medications used to treat MS.
Many MS patients have found that medical marijuana has improved their quality of life. They also have found little to no side effects, no physical addiction, and overall less need for more toxic medications. Most MS patients either use edible cannabis products, vaporizers, or tinctures so that they are not having any problems with the side effects from smoking the medication. - Santa Ana Kid

1) Medical Marijuana is actually legal in 14 states and Wash. D.C. It does work great for chronic pain management. - xjoizey
2) long story short, i got into a horrific car accident leaving me in incredible pain in my back, neck, and chest area. i got my medicinal marijuanna card (which of course you must wait untill your an adult and in a medical marijuanna state) and i got the marijuanna for like your body so your mind is still trippy but your body feels like.. oh i don't know. like your swimming in a pool of warm hot chocolate? whatever, you get the point. And what can i say, marijuanna was 10 times better than the Opiates like Vicadin and Oxy i could of had because i have token them before and i do not like seeing john the baptist as im trying to sleep. Anyways it makes all my pain go away, and it leaves me appreciating about everything. As you must know since you are a user. I would have to recomend you do not use it illegally, because it just adds to the bad rep marijuanna has, but the choice is yours :] wait till your of legal age in a medicinal marijuanna state, it makes you really appreciate it more knowing your doing it legally and in the interest of your doctor. - crankthatspiderman95
3) prop 14 hope everyone voted cali 4 change - Michelle
