The best liquid is probably herbal tea or freshly squeezed orange/grapefruit/lemon juice.

For sore throat try to gargle - best is to put 2-3tea spoons of salt to the water and mix it, it helps to get rid of sore throat.

And honey is really good for sore throat, just get spoon of honey and let it slowly go down your throat, it will make you feel better.

You can fight cold with onion and garlic (yes, you wont like the taste or smell but it really helps):

you can make yourself a toast with butter and then simply grate garlic (or put onion) on it and eat. this is great because there is almost 100% chance that you can always find these ingredients in every household. Believe me even if it sound terrible to eat fresh onion/garlic - it really helps to fight cold, flu etc. - atom

5)   honey, lemon, sassafras and you can put them all in one cup of hot water! sassafras is getting harder to find because all the no good doctors raising stupid questions about herbal medicine! since they know nothing about herbal medicine maybe they should just shut their stupid mouths . huh? something else is white alsatian sage. chew it until it is masticated in your mouth. it will mix in with your saliva and when you swallow it, it will cure your sore throat. horehound cough drops is something else if you can find it. - John Whittington
