Question 3
i am giving my child homoeopathic medicine called ferrum phosphoricum 6x. wanted to ask is it safe for him.?... that bottle contains 250 tablets . i have already given him last yr once and he was better no fever nothing. Is it safe giving again. he is 2 and half yr old. please suggest me
Answers
1) well.. i hv a family doctor of homeopathy
what all i have heard is.....
1. dont keep giving the medicine regularly.. it is very important to put somegap in between
2. every time the same medicine is not given
the medicine changes with improvement in health.. and other symptoms
even a lil change in symptoms causes the medicine to be changed
otherwise.. it is really hamful
moreover.. he is a very little child
so.. better consult a doctor and then provide yr child with a medicine
Hope that helps..!! - Cuty
2) Homeopathic medicines are not medicines. Throw them out, they are a waste of time and money.
Ferrous phos wouldn't be for a fever anyways...
http://www.everydayhealth.com/blog/zimney-health-and-medical-news-you-can-use/homeopathy-is-a-scam/ - Tink
3) Actually, Ferrum Phos IS for fevers, inflammation, and colds specifically. The skeptics love to bash Homeopathy by giving the excuse that there's no molecules of the originally diluted material, but that only applies for the higher dilutions... however, 6X like this doesn't apply to that excuse so this is more like vaccinations than they would like to admit (so if they say this won't work, they would be admitting vaccines don't work either. LOL!).
Homeopathy really does work similar to vaccinations that there is a very diluted amount of an active ingredient that stimulates your immune system responses to help your body heal itself. Since a child's immune system is different than an adult's, you wouldn't want to give the same dosage to a child that you would give to an adult.
With all that being said, the listings I'm seeing for 6X dilution of Ferrum Phos say that adults should take 4 pills up to 2-3 times per day and children 1-6 should take 2 pills up to 2-3 times per day... but it also has the conditions that if the symptoms persist or get worse that a doctor should be consulted (it may mean the person's immune system isn't strong enough to fight the issue or isn't responding right). In fact, it should say the same thing (or at least something very similar) on the label for your package... as long as it's a good quality product (as opposed to a fake product that some people make because Homeopathy is so misunderstood), you should be just fine. Good luck and I hope I helped! - oldtimekid2
4) You're wasting your time. They contain a minute amount of iron phosphate. The only thing they are good for is chucking down the loo. No, they are NOT going to act like a vaccination, it's a trace amount of iron 1 part per million in the sugar pill. Not worth bothering with, give him as many as you like it won't do any harm (or good).
If the kid is sick take him to a real doctor before you kill him through negligence. Ignore the quack talking about vaccination, it's total BS all you have there is iron - and not a lot of it. - Nitram
5) If your child is sick, bring him to a real doctor, not a quack like a homeopath. A fever is a sign of infection and will not be treated by unproven homeopathic remedies.
oldtimekid2 has no idea how vaccines work and I challenge him to prove his assertion that homeopathic remedies work like vaccines. For example, how does that happen? What mechanism of action is involve? Evidence please. - angrydoc

Question 4
is alcohol toxic? need an ans with explanation?...
Answers
1) Yes, Yes is it is. This site totally covers it
http://peer.tamu.edu/curriculum_modules/cell_biology/module_2/hazards.htm - Asdfdsa Fasdfas
2) yes it is because it impairs your health (deteriorates your liver). toxins are substances with inherent property that tend to destroy life or impair health. hence the saying for alcohol "name your poison"
if you drink in moderation you should be fine :) - Priscilla
3) Ethanol in alcoholic beverages has been consumed by humans since prehistoric times for a variety of hygienic, dietary, medicinal, religious, and recreational reasons. The consumption of large doses of ethanol causes drunkenness (intoxication), which may lead to a hangover as its effects wear off. Depending upon the dose and the regularity of its consumption, ethanol can cause acute respiratory failure or death. Because ethanol impairs judgment in humans, it can be a catalyst for reckless or irresponsible behavior. The LD50 of ethanol in rats is 10.3 g/kg.
Other alcohols are substantially more poisonous than ethanol, partly because they take much longer to be metabolized and partly because their metabolism produces substances that are even more toxic. Methanol (wood alcohol), for instance, is oxidized to formaldehyde and then to the poisonous formic acid in the liver by alcohol dehydrogenase and formaldehyde dehydrogenase enzymes, respectively; accumulation of formic acid can lead to blindness or death. Likewise, poisoning due to other alcohols such as ethylene glycol or diethylene glycol are due to their metabolites, which are also produced by alcohol dehydrogenase. An effective treatment to prevent toxicity after methanol or ethylene glycol ingestion is to administer ethanol. Alcohol dehydrogenase has a higher affinity for ethanol, thus preventing methanol from binding and acting as a substrate. Any remaining methanol will then have time to be excreted through the kidneys.
Methanol itself, while poisonous, has a much weaker sedative effect than ethanol. Some longer-chain alcohols such as n-propanol, isopropanol, n-butanol, t-butanol, and 2-methyl-2-butanol do, however, have stronger sedative effects, but also have higher toxicity than ethanol. These longer chain alcohols are found as contaminants in some alcoholic beverages and are known as fusel alcohols, and are reputed to cause severe hangovers although it is unclear if the fusel alcohols are actually responsible. Many longer chain alcohols are used in industry as solvents and are occasionally abused by alcoholics, leading to a range of adverse health effects. - Bittu
4) which alcohol? There's hundreds of the things some more toxic than others and some hardly toxic at all. - Nitram
