6)   do it, nothing wrong with it, just dont do it at school and stuff coz you might have harder time learning stuff - Warwick

7)   the side affects of smoking weed is..........Impaired judgment and motor coordination / Shortened attention span and distractibility / Anxiety and panic attacks /Increased heart rate / Increased risk of heart attack / Increased risk for schizophrenia in vulnerable individuals / Impaired judgment / Problems with memory and learning / Lowered motivation / Decreased alertness and coordination / Addiction / Withdrawal symptoms from stopping drug use (in a chronic user): irritability, sleeplessness, anxiety, impaired appetite, and aggression.....does that answer your question - jamie williams

What you need to do is organize your life and take a bath. - Deer Enthusiast

9)   it affects people in different ways you will have to find out for yourself. Just don't smoke a lot your first time. Look into it more it isnt as bad as people make it out to be. After all it is used for medicinal purposes :) I doubt it will mess with your brain other than making you tired and you will probably be hungry and laugh a lot! where is the harm in that? just be safe! - Kerri

10)   Marijuana can help with the symptoms of glaucoma not nearsightedness.

My stepson has aspbergers syndrome he is 14 and based on my observations of him I would not recommend it.
Marijuana at your age when your brain and body are just developing is not wise, It can make your man boobs grow as it messes with your hormones at your age.
It also affects your memory and learning process and having aspbergers you are already at a disadvantage in some areas (An advantage in others..my stepson is an AWESOME artist but his social interactions are limited)
(I smoke myself)
Wait until you are at least 19-21 to smoke if you really want to, at that age you are pretty much done growing.

Stress is normal at your age, talk to your therapist or doctor for some ideas what to do about it.

Bottom line: weed is not a good idea at your age combined with aspbergers syndrome. - Crusader

11)   I am very much pro, and not saying that I am of age and use it - but 13 is a little young - depends where you ive but perhaps a permit might be a better way. I haven't heard about the blindness curing properties of it, but it does help with a heck lot of other stuff. Although I ave also read that frequent use of it as a teenager may actually lead to worse depression in adulthoodod, but it would definitelytley temporarily relieve some symptoms".

definitely the least harmful drug that you can take for depression an anxiety, but I'm not gonna lie it may demotivate you in school. But it is fun. Sorry for rambling on and for giving you an uneducated answer, I do remind you that it is illegal - whitch btw it shouldn't bwould woud wait, but you can give it a try- cuz you probabley will one day, just don't get too dependant on it.... whatever just have fun kid - you are a ittle young though - Lexie

12)   There is a legal way to obtain "weed" as you put it. The requirements are that it must be legal in the state, I know it is in California. Your parents must give consent. Last but not least you must have a prescription. - Edvin Gusinac

13)   It's not the best idea when you are so young (below 16 is where the acceptable cutoff ends, to me).

I smoke on weekends myself so I am pro-pot, but I'm almost 26 years old. I didn't start til I was 20. It's very much *not* a good idea at your age. The brain is strongly influenced by the amount you challenge yourself and how much you learn during these formative years. Smoking weed makes you content with doing nothing, and it stimulates your appetite + makes things taste better. So, great for cancer patients with lack of appetite and a lot of weight loss. Great for destressing after a hard day working in construction or insurance or tech support. Not so good for a growing teenager who sits around in class 8 hours a day. It may cause you to put on a lot of weight due to increased inactivity combined with eating more and more. (It's also really tough to hide from your parents, so if they're bothered by the illegality of it you can get in some MAJOR FREAKIN TROUBLE if they catch you or smell it). Additionally, short term memory loss can be exacerbated if you start so young. Your brain will get used to forgetting things quickly (that's part of why smoking feels so good, because your brain is slowly hopping from one thing to the next and not lingering anywhere), and forgetting things may become a horrible habit that you can't fix later.

It won't do anything to your eyesight, though (won't help it or hurt it). Weed can help with eye cancer because it decreases the pressure behind the eyes (it decreases blood pressure in general). So it also does help with anxiety by lowering BP. But at your age, there are other methods to reduce anxiety. Join a sport or exercise SOMEHOW, or play computer games and blow up other people. Join choir or band or theatre, it will give you a sense of community and structure that young people often lack. Get side jobs mowing lawns or delivering papers or babysitting if money is stressing you out. It helps to be actively doing something other than just sitting on your butt smoking joints.

My final advice on the issue is: if your depression gets so bad that you are actively suicidal, then smoke by all means, because it is better to be alive with a less active brain and fat butt than it is to be dead. But, please try to find other coping methods before resorting to weed (until you're 16 at least--as far as I'm concerned, it's all good after high school). If school is really bad for you (do you get bullied?), talk to your parents or your guidance counselor or somebody. You might be able to change schools and start fresh somewhere new.

Good luck and I hope you do some reading and make an informed decision! - I'm delicate like a flower

14)   Most points have been covered already. I would like to say -
1. Smoking dope is not recommended for people with depression or other mental illness.
2. Medical use of dope is generally only for people who are terminally ill already.
3. Smoking dope can trigger schizophrenia and psychosis.
4. Smoking dope increases anxiety in most people.
5. It is good for sufferers of glaucoma, but has no bearing on normal short- and long-sightedness.
6. You need an ever increasing amount to get the same high.
7. It's illegal.
8. It is hard to find a reliable supplier.
9. Smoking dope makes it harder to motivate yourself to do ANYTHING. - Sheila

15)   If you are depressed, i would suggest staying away from weed. Weed is a downer, u need an upper! - GiggleMonkey

16)   Don't do it. I've just stopped smoking marijuana. I was a heavy user for this year basically. what i found was my depression just ended up getting worse because i was too high to do anything most of the time. So whatever my problems were just got worse. Then to deal with that you just end up smoking more weed, very vicious cycle. Also i don't recommend smoking it at such a young age, i've just turned 20 and all my friends who did smoke weed at school just ended up dropping out etc, i'm pretty sure it has effects on your brain development. It will make you feel better, but it's only a short term fix and just ends up making the problem worse in the long run. - Michael

17)   to avoid my answer being flagged, here's my disclaimer. MARIJUANA IS ILLEGAL AND SHOULD NOT BE USED UNLESS YOU UNDERSTAND THE CONSEQUENCES BASED ON YOUR LOCAL AND FEDERAL LAWS. now, to the information.
i have used marijuana. it is a stress reliever, and it feels good. in moderation, IT CAN BE GOOD FOR YOU. most first time users report few side affects, but after a while, side effects include euphoria, rush of warmth or cold to the skin, red eyes, and a feeling of well being. motor functions are impaired, but no where near as badly as alcohol (it goes without saying you should never drive on marijuana). Marijuana activates cannabinoid receptors in the brain which can help relieve stress and boost creativity. heavy use can affect lung capacity however. this results in shortness of breath.
here's some other cool facts!
It is impossible to overdose on marijuana with typical use. now, eating a pound can kill you, but you should never eat cannabis. (the THC from cannabis is used in cooking to make brownies, cookies, pizzas, etc).
while smoking anything can lead to complications, no studies have created a connection between cannabis and cancer. smoke in general can cause cancer, but marijuana contains no natural; carcinogens.
were marijuana legalized, regulated, and taxed, crime rate would drop significantly, and the economy would benefit.

its up to you, i was thirteen, but keep in mind it's illegal, and you can get in trouble, and there are risks. - Jerrshington

18)   dude i have aspergers as well i know how you feel but honestly would u rather have aspergers or have aspergers and cancer hey i know how u feel but dont do that there is nothing wrong with u if anybody tells you you're not normal u just remember this everyone is different in their own way change is the one thing that makes people abnormal in my eyes normal doesn't even exist. keep holding on do not do drugs please talk to someone wether it be your parents or another adult u know - Caleb Alexander

1)   Medical marijuana, if it's legal in ur state, because it's prescribed to ppl with sleep loss and stress and it's ok, u don't have to smoke it, u can get it in cookies so if u don't wana smoke it, u don't have to - Jared

2)   I would think if your doctor thought you had ulcers, they would have done tests to find out. Try not to be so stressed. Meditation works great, exercise is great to relieve stress also. - SwingTrader

3)   If you're stressed about something in particular, the most constructive thing to do would be to resolve the issue.

You could also try exercising to burn off the excess energy so you can calm down. I like going for walks sometimes to clear my mind and to get some fresh air.

I don't know of any particular herbal for you, and prescription remedies are only something you should seek for a short term basis. - munch munch

4)   No pills, you need to try everything else before just wanting the pills. My daughter wanted pills so she could just easily make her anxiety go away, but her pediatrician (she is 18 and just started college and this was 6 months ) and her psychologist did not want her to go on pills. She always had anxiety bad for test taking and new situations but when she graduated earlier than her class, and all her friends were either in school or starte college early and she had her first serious boyfriend, she just started having bad anxiety about all the changes happening and about to happen. She starteds seeing a psychologist who taughter her techniques and how to get through the anxiety. She went from not wanting to leave the house (and she is one of those girls in school who was popular with all the groups (not the snobby popular but popular becacuse she is so nice to everyone everyone was her friend so she was super busy all the time) so this was odd. So she is doing really good now, she started college early in spring.

Here is a little bit of what they taught her but not what they taught just what I saw but you should see a psycholoist. My daughter only went 6 times so far and now just goes once a month.

Question 3
Ways to relax... I can't sleep!?...  I'm going through a tough time at the moment and have a lot on my mind. Its keeping me awake at night.

I feel exhausted but whatever I do I can't seem to 'switch off'!

What methods could I try to help drift off?

Answers
1)   Try Head Funk made by Yeah Right.
It is totally relaxing.

2)   Valium or xanax youll sleep like a baby - Ian

3)   Ok I guess I'll be the first to say it. Smoke some weed. :D - John

4)   Xanax is certainly NOT a good way to put you to sleep. Well, it will make you sleep but it's very addictive along with any other benzo.

Try camomile tea. Or some medicinal herb ;) - BionicBanana

5)   Herbs like Valerian (works great but smells like socks. Yuck), Kava Kava, Skullcap, and Chamomile work nice. There is also an herb that is difficult to find and only grows in Jamaica called Godbush. It is really for stomach disorders, but I took it once, and it was so relaxing, just as I drifted off to sleep I almost had an astral projection! It wasnt mind altering, but I'd say that is relaxing! There is a hormone you can get from the health food store called Melatonin. It is secreted by the Pineal gland in the body, and regulates the wake/sleep cycle. I recommend quality brands, but I actually went to the discount store "Dollar Tree" and bought a one dollar bottle of 30 tablets containing Valerian, Chamomile, and Melatonin, called "Sleep and Relax". I couldnt sleep one night, and it worked well enough where I was almost late for work the next morning!
Progressive muscle relaxation is helpful, While lying down, start with the feet. Bend your ankles toward you, as tight as you can. Relax. Do the opposite, pointing your toes downward, as tight as you can. relax. Face the feet together. Relax. Face them away. Relax. Continue all the way up the body, relaxing in between each muscle or muscle group. Tighten the quads (front upper leg muscles). Then the hamstrings (Back upper leg muscles, bend the hips and knees for this one). Tighten the glutes (buttocks). Tighten the Perenium (muscles between your legs that you cut your urine flow off with in mid stream). Tighten the abs (you dont have to actually do a situp). Bend to each side, arch the back backwards. Do the arms a section at a time starting with the shoulders and down to the hands. Ball your fists, then spread and straighten the fingers out. Do the neck on all angles. Then tighten the face. After, open the mouth and eyes as far as you can, then roll your eyes in circles, once in each direction. Go online and look for even more detailed instructions.
Finally, if this continues, try Chinese medicine (acupuncture, and possibly herbs). Overthinking and worrying that is difficult to "turn off" is related to the spleen, stomach, and Spleen Meridian. A wandering mind is a wandering spirit, not "rooted in the blood", meaning that the Heart is not centered, the "Emperor" is running about the kingdom trying to solve problems, instead of remaining in his throne to calmly contemplating. When there is a fire, who is more likely to find a solution, the guy running around like a headless chicken shouting caveman sounds, or the calm one? EVERYTHING is done better when calm and centered. Hope you try the first two suggestions together, if necessary, all three. - David

6)   Make sure you don't have a tv in your bedroom.

You could try reading something peaceful (like the BIble, which is comforting) before you fall asleep.

Also, have you ever heard of a supplement called melatonin? It might help.

Question 4
should i convince my mom to give my grandpa marijuana edibles?...  i live in CA where medical marijuana is legal. my grandpa has a rare genetic disease which causes his muscles to degenerate, and so he cant walk now and his arms are getting stiffer as well. he also loses bowel control and when he talks its very hard to understand him because his disease makes him mumble. so he has to use alot of energy to say something clearly. he's in a nursing home now, but i think hes depressed, which is only natural. my mom told me that they asked his doctor if he could write him a recommendation for marijuana and he said no (that asshole). so i told my mom that she has to take him to another doctor, one who specifically gives out marijuana reccomendations. shes afraid of the idea because she thinks something will go wrong and she'll go to jail. i assured her she wouldnt get in trouble and that as soon as the proper doctor takes a look at him, he'll give him the recommendation. i want to give my grandfather marijuana brownies or cookies, so that he can enjoy the remaining years of his life. i dont want him stoned all the time (as that could worsen his depression) but i dont see anything wrong with once in a while. what do you guys think?

Answers
1)   Give the man a bit of smoke do him the world of good.

1 or 2 every few days he will be a new man.

Hope he is well,

Regards. - Ian

2)   Well make sure he likes the idea as if he thinks it's just a brownie and ends up stoned he might get angry. Just make sure he wants to have the medical marijuana before you give it to him. :P
Good luck! - John

3)   Assuming he knows the effects of marijuana, yes. I would say a good buzz every other day would do him some good. - Zach Short the hippy

4)   First, to be fair, there IS still a legal risk. Its still illegal federally, and the feds have NOT backed up off of medical users the way Obama asked them to.

But, in general, the risk is slim. They are going after people they can make examples out of..... People who are growing for a lot of people, etc....

If he wants it, then yes, I think she should continue to pursue getting it. - smile

5)   Call around. Some dispensaries have doctors on staff and some have doctors that they can recommend you. You definitely need to get him some proper medication and edibles are the best way to go for him. - 560tt

Question 5
Will Apple Juice Help Your Immune System?...  I have some apple juice in the fridge and I was just looking at the Nutrition Facts and it said it has 120% Vitamin C. I've heard vitamin C can help your immune systemgrow stronger. Is this true? Cause it wouldnt hurt to boost my immune system a little by just drinking some juice. ;-)

Thank ya =]
Hanna♥

Answers
1)   yes, better yet:.an apple a day,keeps the Doctor away - Wizard

2)   It won't hurt your immune system, unless there is also a lot of added sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Those two items can actually hurt your immune system.

An apple would be better. Eating a lot of vegetables and a well rounded healthy diet is the best way to boost your immune system. The articles listed below will explain what foods to eat to boost your immune system. - SwingTrader

3)   It's only good for you if it's 100% juice. If it's the fake kind that's loaded with sugar and additives and other assorted garbage, you're better off leaving in the fridge for someone else. Check the back label for it's juice percentage. For anything that says it's less than 100% juice... you'd better think twice before putting in your body. - munch munch

4)   Your immune system is very complex - its not something that you can just boost, despite what alties tell you. However, a healthy balanced diet, that includes plenty of fruit and veges, and a healthy lifestyle will help keep immune function at its optimal baseline. You can't improve on that.
